What this is

Veriride shows you whether the person driving is the person the car is registered to, and keeps a record of the times you asked. It is not a ride-hailing service, it does not arrange or control any trip, and it is not affiliated with Uber, Bolt or inDrive.

What a check means

A verified driver is one whose documents we have seen and whose live photo matched at that moment. It is not a background check, not a criminal record check, and not a promise that a person is safe. Use your judgement; a green mark is information, not permission.

Emergencies

The emergency features send messages to contacts you chose. They are not an emergency service, they depend on your phone having signal and battery, and they do not replace calling 10111. Do not rely on this app as your only means of getting help.

Using it honestly

Do not create an account as somebody else, do not use another person’s photo, and do not file a report you know to be untrue. Reports affect real people’s livelihoods. We suspend accounts that do any of this.

Paying

Two checks a month are free. Paid plans renew through the app store until you cancel there, and the store’s refund rules apply.

If something goes wrong

We give no warranty beyond what South African consumer law requires and cannot waive. Nothing here limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. These terms are governed by South African law.
